Scott was in practice as a barrister from 1975 until late 2014. He was recognised by the Chambers and Legal 500 Directories for many years as being very experienced in the investigation of medical cases and the management of medical experts. He was involved in complex litigation for 25 years.

Scott qualified with the London School of Mediation in 2012. He has a special interest in mediation in the fields of personal injury and medical negligence and is a strong advocate of the benefits of mediation to the parties involved in complex personal injury litigation.
